Durban-based Trellidor (Pty) Ltd, together with leading Taiwanese suppliers Sen Fung Roll Forming Machinery Corp, have completed the commissioning of the first of seven new roll forming machines, the total value of which will be $1.8 million (US). Driven by both household and commercial demand for their custom made barrier security products, Trellidor's expansion anticipates a continuation of its year on year growth of 25% over the last three years.
"We spent a considerable amount of time investigating suppliers around the world to find the right partners," said Operations Director Christopher Wright, "as we were looking for state-of-the-art steel processing equipment. Sen Fung, which has been manufacturing this type of machinery for over 42 years, are leading manufacturers of sheet metal cold roll forming machinery."
The newly installed roll forming machinery significantly improves factory efficiencies by combining independent processes and machinery using the latest technology. Due to Trellidor's strong growth this new automation has not resulted in staff redundancies. "By the time the last of the new machine arrives towards the end of 2008, we will have expanded our Phoenix Industrial Park manufacturing plant by approximately 2 203m²," said Wright. "This will give us extended factory space for the new machines, powder coating plant, as well as our assembly and dispatch areas."
