Roll-up Serranda has introduced two unique fire rated doors to its range of commercial and industrial roller shutters. The first of their kind in South Africa, they are ideal for high risk applications such as sports stadiums, mines, tyre manufacturers and dealers, high-tech electrical instrument manufacturers or buildings where a need for this type of security has been identified by risk assessors.
These highly specialised, custom made roller shutters are available in two size ranges. The 1 ½ hour rated version has a maximum exposed shutter area of 36m2 while the two hour fire rated door can be manufactured up to 12m2. Both have been tested in accordance with SABS requirements and are certified by TUV Rheinand, a German based testing facility with international credibility. They are the only certified fire protection roller doors in South Africa to date.
Roll-up Serranda’s fire doors operate with a fusible link and descent control mechanism, remaining permanently open until automatically activated in case of fire. They don’t require any electric sensors or hydraulic mechanisms and can be integrated with existing fire protection systems.
