Barrier security supplier sets installation record30 March 2010 Durban-based security solutions manufacturer, Trellidor, has set a new record for the number of home security barriers supplied on a single project. A combined effort by head office and the company's Lephalale franchise saw a total of 3 498 units installed at Eskom's Ledibeng Eco Estate staff housing venture in Limpopo Province, the highest number of units supplied to one commercial contract in Trellidor's 30 year history. A total of 350 homes were built on the estate, requiring 804 security gates and 2 694 window fixtures. As one of the last contractors to be given access to the site, time-pressures were a feature of the job, with Trellidor being given just 40 days in which to measure every aperture, custom manufacture the home security products and install them. This equated to installing an average of 120 units a day. "It was quite a feat for our franchisee, given that he only opened his franchise in September last year," said Trellidor marketing and sales director, Peter Rawson. Franchise owner Abrie Loubser was given assistance by Trellidor's commercial manager Paul van Blerk, technical support manager Shaun Erasmus, and installation teams from Trellidor's Johannesburg branches. More good news for Loubser is that his franchise has been contracted to secure another Eskom housing development in the area, fitting retractable security doors to the patio doors of 65 newly built homes.
